The 2002 Mississippi State Quarter
- Each state quarter collection card includes two Brilliant Uncirculated quarters: one has a Denver (D) mint mark and the other Philadelphia (P). These are the only US minted coins produced for circulation.
- Mississippi became the 20th state to enter the union on December 10, 1817.
- The quarter design for Mississippi, the Magnolia State, features a pair of Magnolia flowers. The large, white blossom of the magnolia tree was designated the state flower in 1900 because of the abundance of trees throughout the state. The magnolia is an evergreen and the flower is usually fragrant.
